Bronyville Episode 055 – Friendship is Commercialized

Dear Princess Celestia,
Sometimes you assume that because somepony acted a particular way they may not change. And sometimes it takes a little bit of re-examining a situation to see that things may not be as they once appeared. This week Sandy and I were joined by Sethisto and Inky Spots to talk about John DeLancie’s new pet projects and the nifty words he said about us, what’s cooking with Anthony Bordain, and then clearing the air on the Brony Thank You project. All in all it was super successful! Progress!

Sincerely,
Apple Cider

  1. After the season 2 premiere, I became kinda obsessed with Discord, so much so that I got back into Star Trek (and *really* got into Q) after years of being out of that fandom so Mr. De Lancie being so interested and excited about our fandom is just about the most awesome thing that could happen for a little nerd like me. ;P

Also I came here to check for the new episode, but evidently it was already ready to go on my itunes, hooray!

  2. Seriously? People don’t get that Rainbow Dash is training? Is it THAT hard to understand?
Maybe it wasn’t clear she’s an athlete… oh wait.

  3. Regarding Anthony Bordain and the mixed reactions; it’s important to remember that ponies mean different things to different people. It’s not a stretch that people into MLP love equines (and other animals).

Personally I thought it disgusting, but the world we live in has me suitably desensitized, so I filed it in the ‘usual horrors’ cabinet and moved on.

As for the documentary involving John ‘Dis-Q’ deLancie, this episode in turn got me to thinking this is all pretty cool. Same thing with the commercial airing, as honestly, I’ve never had the tendency to give it much more thought beyond ‘oh, they want money so ‘we’ can appear on TV, isn’t that gratifying’. You live and learn.

    Keep ponying guys!
