Gosh these girls are lively. I am totally in favour of having them host another podcast. *two hooves up*

I like the idea that the show doesnt just break gender stereotypes, but more so the age barrier. Dumbing down shows aimed at children just assures that it won’t age very well.

Overall, very entertaining episode. Random guy in the background was a nice change of pace. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Four more hooves up! I love this group!

Also, I can’t believe Starry Night is a Fluttershy/Luna fan just like me. If she had said that she liked Octavia too I would have exploded… and then exploded again.

I read a book this one time. It was cool. Then I read a whole lot more and I turned into a nerd. Forever Alone is my friend…

I named my first car that wasn’t a hand-me-down Beauty. It was a black Neon, from before that “cab-forward” BS that made windshields stay frozen forever in winter and fog up waaaay too easy all the rest of the time. >:(

Potentially-spoiler Protips: The horse is black. The horse is named Beauty. Beauty is a guy. Everyone you like keeps losing through no fault of their own. And a woman wrote that book, which started the modern animal-welfare movement and resulted in the RSPCA and ASPCA as well as Humane Societies and improvements in zoos across the world.

Because horses. Everyone who’s made friends with a horse understands.

By the way, mini-horses are smart enough to be housebroken…

I read Black Beauty for the first time a couple of years ago. While I knew it was no stroll in the park, I was still surprised at how hard that book hit me. Around the point where Joe says goodbye to Beauty, and Beauty can’t say goodbye back so he puts his nose against Joe’s hand… I cried until I got the hiccups.
Something about the matter-of-fact tone, paired with likeable characters that just can’t catch a break weighed pretty heavy on me. Maaan. Poor Jerry. And also poor everybody else. :c

If your reading the comments before listening to the podcast, the hosts asked the question, are there any guys that know anything about horses, or read horse stories over and above MLP or do they just care about MLP?

    My reply is this:

I read Piers Anthony On a Pale Horse and Night Mare.

Oh. And I also own two horses and trained them myself. One’s a Thoroughbred and the other one is an arab quarter horse mix, both mares. They do not have cutie marks.

    • Oh Piers Anthony! I liked the night mare, though I’ve only read his books here and there. Your horses sound lovely ๐Ÿ™‚
I was really sad I didn’t have time to blab about the Black Stallion too.

    Captain America has staying power.

I read Lord of the Rings, It has Shadowfax, Gandalf’s hourse.

It is about Frodo taking the one ring into Mt.DOOM and destroy ring. It begins with Bilbo about to celibate is Umpteenth Birthday, He gets the one ring and adds Sam, Marry, and Pippin to the party. They travel to the town Bree, were Aragorn is added to the party. The Ring wraiths chased the party into elven village of Rivendell were the party joins the council and Boromir, Gandalf, Gimili, and Legolas join the party. The party heads off to Mines of Moria. After the Party faces the Balrog, and The party loses Gandolf. after that the party finds itself in Lothlรณrien the Elf Haven. Then the travel down river the party loses Boromir and the party breaks into three of Gimili, Aragorn, and Legolas; Frodo, and Sam; Marry and Pippin.

Group 3 escaped Orcs and Joined Ents. Group 1 enters Rohan, cures King and finds Gandalf, Gandalf joins the party 1 and summons Shadowfax and go to Helms deep with the nation of Rohan. Group 2 journeys heads toward Mt. Doom and Gollum joins Party 2.

As far as LotR horses, I liked Arod (meaning “Swift”). Shadowfax is described as awesome, but Gandalf is the best wizard, he gets awesome stuff by default. Bill the pony was maybe the best equine *character* in the whole set, and he got left behind at Moria and had to fend for himself.

Aaand now I’m thinking of Derpy getting left outside the gates of a horrible fortress when a kraken leaps out of the grim pool. And she has to deliver her package to the other side, but the pass is snowed in with a horrible blizzard! What to do, what to doooo?? Become Ditzy Do, of course, cousin to Daring Do! She’ll find a way if she has to stuff that kraken’s belly with so many sweets that it gets sick!

But where do you find enough cake to sicken a kraken?

Oh, wait, Pinkie might know! … and I should stop here before you get an entire fanfic in the comments section.

It may have something to do with the fact that I’m a big softie, but every iteration of Black Beauty that I’ve ever read made me baaaaaaaaaaawl.
