Bronyville Episode 036 – Friendship and the Rocko Koko Show

Dear Princess Celestia,
Oh sweet Cel- oh, well I guess you! So, we brought Mbulsht, you know our awesome audio dude, and Rocko Koko, one the the ex build team form MLP:FIM, on for a show. After the show Rocko was so incensed that he kidnapped Chef and is now hurling barrels from the top of these rafters. You should listen to this show where we talk about Ponyarchive and working in an animation studio and such. I have to go find a hammer.

Sincerely,
Apple Cider

  1. Rocko Koko. I am standing right now. I am on my feet, applauding vociferously for you, and for taking a stand against all the free media leeches who think they’re entitled to getting all their stuff for free, and for biting back because Hasbro is finally taking baby steps towards the tiniest bit of enforcement.

You’re a total winner with the most awesome voice in the universe, every breath a veritable supernova of booming truth and vaporizing greatness that shatters worlds.

    • Thank you Vest. I thought I have to say something in this mess consider this really hit us closer to home. We rely on the well being of the TV channels and network or we’d be doomed.

Plus, I think I am perfect for being the bad guy here, consider I play “Detroit Bad Boys” style basketball (not as extreme though) so the mindset is there. Gotta use it.

Rocko, I am so sorry, but the entire episode I couldn’t help but thinking the show was interviewing Heavy Weapons Guy.

Another great podcast guys! If I may say, Rocko Koko, you are my hero. You told it like it was and did not hold back! I wanted to give a huge brohoof to you after your rant on people illegally downloading episodes when we should be supporting the show anyway we can, for the sake of not only Hasbro but to your colleagues working on the show.

It was also cool to hear a little insight of how your job as an animator would go. It sounded like a lot of work, which only shows the amount of love and effort that goes into FiM.

Sorry for this being so long. I don’t usually comment, but this was so good that I felt like I had to. Keep up the great work AC and CS!

  4. Hee hee, oh Rocko… You’re so enthused… And so you should be! I find it incredible and ridiculously presumptive that there are so many bronies that believe they are entitled to free downloads of the show. I feel privileged enough to have the episodes leading up to episode 11. Yeah, I’m annoyed that I can’t get more (though I am hopeful about the recent Madman announcement. Damn, I love those guys), but I don’t feel like the show should belong to me for free!

Also, I have to say as the topic briefly turned to SOPA, that thing is a work of GENIUS! It’s so completely ridiculous and over-the-top that of course it won’t get through, BUT it hits home with enough people to completely distract attention from so many other recent bills. Like, oh, I don’t know, maybe the one allowing the detainment of US citizens without charge! Hah! Oh SOPA… You’re such a veil over so many eyes…

    • I learned about SOPA a few days before I did the show and I thought I ought to mention it here to prove my point.

If you ask me, SOPA could very well become the “Big Brother” in George Orwell’s 1984.

Talking of Australian’s, we don’t sound that back …… Mate, you need a lesson in aussie slang mate. This is the first cast of yours I saw, and I love it, be tuning in for more from now on.

  6. If Rocko Kobo is still reading the Bronyville podcast (Thanks AC and CS!), comments, I would like to suggest a Youtuber that does fanfic readings. Rocko if you are reading this I highly suggest audiobooks by VozDeSuenos. I hope you will observe how the community can make such good stories or how they can do such pleasant fanfic readings :)

  7. This episode of Bronyville is awesome, and that because of the rightful, ass-kciking whooping victory of Rocko Koko over those who try to take advantage over the creativity of others. I could imagine him with a sword and a shield on the top of a hill, scaring the enemy away with his overpowering voice, forged in the Mountains of Awesome.

We stay together in Friendship and Tolerance. And those who don’t want either of those two, are free to go. But we always leave a door open, as we are also forgiving.

I found out about this show today and I already love it! Do you think I can be a guest star in the show?

  9. I know it’s incredibly late after this episode was released to leave a comment, but I hope just by chance that Rocko Coko will read this!

Diverting away from the topic that the other commenters talked about (although I found your rant extremely inspiring and it opened my eyes to the haunting realisation that if I were ever to make content on that level, I would have the same anger towards piracy. In fact, you were so convincing I’ve put money aside to buy the box-set the moment it comes out as it is unavailable to me on iTunes), I would like to talk about what you mentioned about your love of Audiobooks.

I myself am an aspiring voice actor, and I record Audiobooks for various MLP:FIM Fanfiction. I am currently working close with a couple of authors over at fimfiction.net, and it is going swimmingly. As you mentioned, it is an excellent medium for these stories to be delivered to people who wish to be attached to the stories, who may not necessarily have the means or time to sit down and enjoy the written experience. I believe more people should take advantage of this medium, as well as lending their own voice talents to the cause if you are so inclined!

Just letting you guys know of a thriving side of the fandom that may interest you!

To answer the question about whether salt can cause inebriation like alcohol, salt is actually a little more lethal in respect to alcohol’s effects. You see, if too much salt is ingested with inadequate amounts of water it will induce a heavy thirst response in the animal. If the animal is allowed to drink as much water as it wants afterward, this results in brain swelling that leads to blindness and even death of the animal. Nowadays this problem is seen mostly in the swine industry where an automated watering system breaks down over a weekend and the pigs have been left unattended.

Hope you ponies have a great time at BroNYCon.
