Bronyville Episode 017 – Friendship is on the Tussin

Dear Princess Celestia,
I didn’t want to wake you. I went out with Chef Sandy and our friend Mbulsht to talk about Ponychan. They are trying to rope me into getting a tattoo in addition to watching all the brony news and being really insistent about this JOHN MADDEN guy. Anyway, I wanted to make sure you get enough rest. I left some noodle soup in the microwave and some cough drops by the bed. I’ll see you when I get home.

Sincerely,
AppleCider

I’m still in the middle of listening to the episode, but I’m surprised you guys haven’t heard of what we refer to our female counterparts (at least down here in the north Texas area). We often call them Pega-sis

BRILLIANT! The facebook group I’m in likes to refer to them as “fillies,” but I find that rather demeaning. I’ve heard people joke about calling the female half of our fandom the “Sisterhoof,” but I usually simply call them “Bronies.”

I don’t see the problem in being called a Brony. I call everyone bronies regardless of if they are male or female. (For the record I’m a girl :3) I always thought it was gender-neutral and didn’t realize some female fans had a problem with it.

I don’t like the ‘fillies’ thing though. It is pretty demeaning. Though Paga-sis is pretty awesome.

    New listener here.
I’d just like to thank you for making this awesome show, guys. Listening to the backlog has been great fun, and very informative for a relatively new Brony like me.

Oh, and get well soon, Chef.

Another epic episode. I rather liked the email segment this time

brony is a gender nutural term

Yep Brony is a neutral term. The better argument is whether or not this term really applies if you didnt get into the show from /b/ or if youve never been a part of a /b/ pony thread. It seems like quite a few from /co/ take offense to being called bronies.

About ponychan maybe you guys should try to get OrangeBlaze on the show. I remember him setting the site up before the bans started, but maybe I just didnt get hit by the first wave. I also remember when you guys made a post about episode one of bronyville and after listening, leaving a little minireview
    Oh the fun we’ve had.

  6. Hello Apple Cider and Chef Sandy, when you guys gonna read the rap I wrote in honer of rainbow dash, or do you need to be like 20% cooler before you can sing it?

Glad to hear Fluttersie’s story mentioned on here. She really has gotten so much love from the brony community and I always refer her thread to people who try to talk about the bronies like we’re bad people.

I don’t know if you mentioned(I might have missed it) some bronies, myself included, have even sent her things like shirts.
