“Now look here, soldier. There are a few things in life that come down to determination. But in order to have that determination and internal drive, you need to be able to keep a focused mind and a healthy attitude.
A soldier who slacks through basic, just slipping by with satisfactory performances will only end up as a causality on the battle field. Without a solid base of knowledge and practice a soldier will be a waste of space later in the war. Until you learn and accept the basics you can never move on to exceed the simple and achieve the complex.
If you want something enough, then it is worth the struggle, son. Quitting anything is hard, but what you need to remember is that it only takes one slip up to revert all the way back to square one. So stay strong, soldier. Once you get past the peak of difficulty it will be pleasing and easy ride down the other side of the mountain.
Getting a job is hard, son, I won’t sugar coat that. But sometimes you need to buckle down and prepare yourself for failure, soldier. You will fail in this matter. Places will turn you away and you will have to journey far and wide until you are finally accepted somewhere. The harder you fight and the longer you wait the more satisfying your success will be. Hard work and time can only be returned with rewards and satisfaction.
Giving up during the hard times of life only means that you are restricting yourself form ever achieving your goals.
Perseverate, et praemium.
Persevere, and you will be rewarded.”

“Listen up, soldier. When I was in that thread I do not want you to think that I was there to insult or belittle anypony in particular. I read the whole thread and my opinion was based on the arguments I saw presented there by everypony
Please do not think I do not care for you. Do not think that I think any less of you. And do not think I set out to insult you in a personal way at all.
We all make mistakes, we all have our misconceptions, and arguments are needed from time to time. This was a case you felt strongly for and wanted the opinions of the community. The wave of anger that arose may have began with you, but it could have turned out very differently depending on what the rest of the communities actions and thoughts in that thread was. While I will not sit here and say I agreed with the manner in which you posted there, I commend you for coming and apologizing.
Realize you were not the only one at fault in that thread. Do not carry this burden alone. And do not think my words are ever meant to insult or depress, only to help one see a different side of things.
Vivat vivat.
