Today some users from Ponychan express their love for this fandom, and the people in it.

Today we honor one of Ponychans more well-known posters, The Soldier!
Today, we bask in the uplifting words of two users from Ponychan. Both of these posts were found in the same thread, which was posted by an individual who was going through a rough time in their life. User upon user piled in to that thread, offering their own words of encouragement to the Original Poster. What follows here is but a small sample of the wave of words that was experienced. Today, we are shown just how much love some Bronies have for the community.
This week two users from Ponychan show us the true spirit of Brony-ness and what it means to be a part of this community.
This week’s edition of “Quotes from the Fandom” is all about the fanfiction! Both of the fanfics I’ve quoted here are personal favorites of mine, and hold a special place in my heart. Today, I salute you, fanfiction writers; may we all strive each day to, like you, prove that the pen is mightier than the sword. Continue reading
I’ve been browsing Ponychan more and more lately, and have started to forgo my normal modus of lurking for a more active role as a regular poster. And one of the things that has brought me to this mindset is the recent trend of threads, mostly in the /oat/ board, where people have posted very inspirational messages to each other, words of encouragement, and advice.
Another recent rash of threads has exploded across /oat/ and /chat/ about the current state of the fandom, wherein people have discussed what it means to be a Brony, the ideals of Respect and Tolerance, and how to combat hate.
And while I was reading these, I realized that we have some amazing writers in our fandom. There are people who post things on Ponychan with prose that rivals some of the greatest fanfic writers I’ve seen in my lifetime.
And it’s not just Ponychan, either. We have some really amazing fanfiction writers getting their stories featured on Equestria Daily as well.
So this is my tribute to them. It will be a weekly post each Monday entitled “Quotes from the Fandom.” I’m not going to discuss the matters they talk about, nor will I preach their ideals. I simply want to post their words here so that others may read them, take them in, and acknowledge the skills of some of the best writers I know. I will post quotes from anyone in the MLP Fandom, from Ponychan posters, to fanfic writers who have their work up on Equestria Daily.
So here’s this week’s Quotes:
If you guys haven’t already, go ahead and check out my previous post.
I just want to reiterate that I am not an expert on fanfiction. I am, in fact, about as far away from being a professional writer as anybody else in the fandom. So this little “guide” is not so much a hard and fast step-by-step instructional tool for writing, but more of a little nudge in the right direction for those of you who are still on the fence about writing fanfiction.
So if you’re already a fanfiction author and you’ve stumbled upon this here post I’m writing, feel free to skip it and instead listen to some of the highly entertaining podcast episodes on this site.
But if you’re one of those many bronies out there who have not written, or have an idea and are just afraid to start a fanfiction, come on in. I’ll show you how to get started.
Once again, if you would like something more in-depth, don’t hesitate to check out Cereal Velocity’s own guide entitled “It’s Magic.”
All right. Here goes. Continue reading
Chef Sandy queued me in on this about an hour ago and we have both been giggling like schoolgirls since!
Goldenrusset was Supervising Director for Friendship is Magic during Season 1 and cutesypoo has done storyboard work for the show. So the fact that they have listened to the show validates the very recent yet the hard work Chef, Mbulsht, and I have put into this pet project .
Here’s to hoping they both remain listeners. I would love to have any of the production crew on for an interview but for now we are excited just to have their attention. If you are reading this, regardless who you are, we want to thank you for being the most gracious and amazing listeners a podcast host could ever want.
This year was only my second year attending FanimeCon, a popular anime convention held every year in San Jose. It should come as no surprise that many Bronies out there are also anime fans, so I guess it was only natural that I’d meet a few at this year’s convention. This year, however, some fans decided to take it above and beyond and try out this whole “meetup” idea that many Bronies have been attempting lately. Continue reading
Hey guys, Mbulsht here.
Firstly, I want to say that this is the first part of a two-part series of posts I am writing dealing with fanfiction. The idea here is to lay down some easy to understand guidelines for reading and writing. This isn’t any kind of handbook for fanfiction (I do not pretend to be any sort of expert in the subject), but you can think of it as a kind of checklist to follow. If you are interested in something more in depth, you should definitely check out Cereal Velocity’s own guide to writing fanfiction entitled “It’s Magic.” That will tell you everything you need to know about plot, dialogue, and everything in between. This little article I’m writing is just meant to be a few introductory words when it comes to new fanfiction readers/writers. Continue reading
